Earning your degree doesn't mean you have to sacrifice quality time with your family. At American Military University (AMU), we realize the importance of flexibility and want to ensure that you are able to learn at a pace that complements your professional and personal obligations. Our goal is to help you reach your full potential so that you can pursue your desired career path.

Whether you’re seeking an education that will jumpstart your current career or help you transition into a completely new field, we have the degree programs to meet your needs as a military family member.

Tuition Grant for Active-Duty Military Spouses

Active-duty servicemembers, their spouse and dependents, National Guard members, and Reservists are eligible to receive the military tuition grant. Additionally, they’re eligible for our university book grant, which provides no-cost textbooks and ebooks for undergraduate and master’s-level courses.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MYCAA) Program

As a top provider of education to the U.S. Military, AMU supplements the $4,000 scholarship awarded to eligible military spouses through the MyCAA scholarship program with an additional $500. This scholarship, coupled with the tuition grant, helps military spouses pursue certificates and degrees with little to no out-of-pocket expenses.

MYCAA Eligibility

The MyCAA program is available to spouses of servicemembers on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2. This includes spouses married to members of the National Guard and Reserve Components on Title X orders in these same pay grades.

If you are not eligible for the MyCAA program, there are other financial aid resources available that may help you join the many military spouses currently studying at AMU. Complete our brief form to request additional information on these programs.
