Online Coaching Programs

Students completing SPMT606/Techniques in Coaching Strategy, a course in the Master’s in Sports Management online degree program, can earn their certification in Coaching Principles. This certification requires the successful completion of the following course (with a score of 80% or higher on the final exam):

ASEP Bronze Level Certification

Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s of Sports and Health Sciences online degree program can earn their American Sport Education Program (ASEP) Bronze Level Certification. This certification involves passing a series of three courses.

Students then select a third course that is sport-specific. Options include:

Students must successfully pass each course and earn an 80% or above to receive the Bronze Level credential. ASEP possesses a comprehensive coaching education program and credential. It is used by 40 state high school athletic associations, in whole or in part, to accredit coaches and is quickly being adopted by school districts and other sport organizations as their preferred coaching education program. Students that are currently coaching or plan on pursuing coaching positions are encouraged to take advantage of this certification opportunity.

*To minimize out-of-pocket costs, eligible active-duty servicemembers, their families, National Guard members, and Reservists receive a tuition grant that caps undergraduate, master's degree, and graduate certificate tuition at $250/credit hour. In addition, a master's-level book grant provides no-cost ebooks for master’s-level courses to active-duty servicemembers, their families, National Guard members, and Reservists.
